COMMENT: I'll bite - 1st draft - comments please

I'll bite with my comment from early on... please feel free to make revisions or additions:

I'd like to first start by saying thank you to all of our men and women and their families who serve our country in the protection of our homeland and security abroad.

I will limit my remarks to a severe pandemic ... one with a much higher CFR (2%) than in the Draft Guidelines Assumptions... more like 50-60%.

In the event of a "severe" pandemic, security at home will be paramount. Once critical systems are secured, we will need our service people healthy and able to distribute anti-virals, medical supplies, food, fuel, etc. We will need them to fill gaps that develop in the JIT (Just In Time Delivery System). We will need them for us to feel safe in our homes.

This may require bringing them home from missions abroad as those countries will have their own major problems... as Sec. Leavitt (HHS) said "You are On Your Own".

If our service men and women were here to help me and my family cope with the shortages we are expecting, I'd sleep better at night. I'd also sleep better at night knowing I could stay home for the duration of the pandemic wave (6-8 weeks) with adequate supplies - hint... 2 weeks is not enough))

AND many of the service people are in the last priority age group who may be at the greatest risk of developing the deadly cytokine storm which seems to happen with H5N1.
