COMMENT: Anti-virals vs Vaccines

Educate the people. Educate the people. Educate the people. The British government has just upped their order for anti-virals to protect its citizens. Why has the American government not done the same? Why had the DHHS stockpiled so much of the funding allocated from Congress to address this issue? It seems to me that anti-virals and other medical treatments should be looked at for that 6 month period when there will be no vaccine. Why not allow American citizens to purchase their own? My child's life is worth more than the $90 that this would cost me.

To add to Katherine's and Roy's most excellent points, the American people will never forgive or forget if the government put all of its hopes on a Magical Vaccine to be produced under times of extreme duress when common sense says that we have to make sure that our children survive for the six months that it will take to produce said vaccine. Level with the American people. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED THE VIRUS WILL KILL US.
